IRnova introduces Balder, the first IRnova product with eSWIR T2SL technology. Originally designed for space, it is now on the market at 640 VGA level. The detector is available in three formats: FPA, rotary and split linear IDDCA.
IRnova's T2SL technology brings ultimate sensitivity, uniformity, stability and resolution to the full shortwave spectral range. The Balder supports up to 300 Hz frame rate and multiple readout modes, including windowing, snapshot, ITR and IWR for high end eSWIR imaging.
The operation temperature up to 200K makes the Balder versatile when it comes to system integration. It enables integrating in compact and efficient Stirling IDDCAs for cameras requiring low SWaP and silent operation like the Owl eSWIR 640 from Raptor Photonics. https://www.raptorphotonics.com/products/owl-eswir-640/
The IDDCA version of the Balder combines eSWIR T2SL technology with the state-of-the-art SWaP IDDCA modules from IRnova. Available with different F numbers (F/2 or F/1.2) for operating with ultimate SWaP characteristics: power consumption under 2 W, weight below 300g and cooldown time faster than 3 min. The MTTF is above 15 000 h for the rotary and 35 000 h for the SL.
The Balder is suitable for applications beyond space monitoring thanks to high atmospheric transmission, material dependent reflectance and enhanced visibility through smoke, fog, and other degraded vision environments. It is the ideal solution for surveillance, industrial monitoring, machine vision and spectrometry.
